Purpose of the Role
Wellington Implement is creating this position because we believe our market opportunity
exceeds our current sales capacity. We have strong people, strong customer relationships and
significant growth opportunities across agricultural, commercial and residential markets. The
Director of Sales will build the processes, accountability and talent development systems
needed to turn that opportunity into sustainable growth.
Accountability
The Director of Sales is accountable for building a sales organization that consistently develops
high-performing sales professionals, gains market share, creates customer enthusiasm and
positions Wellington Implement as the preferred equipment dealer in every market we serve.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own the performance, development, structure and long-term effectiveness of the sales organization.
- Lead, coach and develop all sales personnel across the organization.
- Recruit, hire, onboard and retain high-performing sales professionals.
- Create consistent sales processes, expectations and accountability standards.
- Implement and drive adoption of a simple, effective CRM system.
- Establish pipeline management, forecasting and territory planning processes.
- Identify opportunities to increase market share and customer penetration.
- Support major account development and strategic customer relationships.
- Partner with Parts, Service, Marketing, Inventory and Store Leadership teams.
- Align sales execution with company growth objectives.
Inventory & Financial Leadership
- Partner with inventory management and executive leadership to optimize inventory mix, inventory turns and equipment ordering strategies.
- Participate in major trade evaluations, deal structuring and inventory disposition decisions.
- Support achievement of equipment sales, gross profit and inventory performance objectives.
Manufacturer & Partner Relationships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturer representatives and finance partners.
- Collaborate with manufacturers on sales initiatives, market development opportunities, training programs and growth strategies.
- Represent Wellington Implement at manufacturer meetings, industry events and strategic planning discussions.
Marketing & Customer Engagement
- Partner with marketing leadership to develop customer acquisition and retention strategies.
- Support customer events, demonstrations, clinics, trade shows and other market-facing activities that strengthen customer relationships and generate sales opportunities.
- Help create enthusiasm for Wellington Implement, its products, and its people throughout the marketplace.
Success Measures
- Increased market share and equipment sales volume.
- Improved salesperson retention and development.
- Stronger collaboration between Sales, Parts, Service and Marketing.
- A scalable sales organization capable of supporting future growth.
- Effective CRM utilization , pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy.
- Consistent sales processes across all locations.
